Plesk Panel is a web hosting control panel. Hetzner offers licenses for Plesk 12. There are four different licenses offered, depending on the amount of domains that need to be managed with Plesk, and the functionality required.

Older Plesk Licenses
The licenses for Plesk Pack 30, Plesk Pack 100 and Plesk Pack unlimited, offered up until July 24, 2014, are also valid for Plesk 12. If you have such a license and would like to upgrade to the new licensing model, please send a request via the Robot.
Plesk can be installed either automatically or manually, depending on your needs.
When ordering a new server an operating system can be selected, which is then pre-installed on the server. A number of these operating systems can be installed along with Plesk.
Currently Plesk can be pre-installed with the following operating systems:
- CentOS 7.3
- Debian 8.7
- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
- Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition
- Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter Edition
If the server is already online, Plesk can be activated and installed automatically (along with an OS) via the "Plesk" tab of the server in the Robot. Once you have restarted the server the installation will be automatically performed. You will get an email with the login details of both the OS and Plesk once the installation is complete.
Please note that this installation will erase all data on the drives in the server.
Plesk can also be installed manually. This is useful if, for example, it needs to be installed on an OS we don't pre-install it with.
The client needs to install Plesk themselves, we do not help with that. The license can be ordered and retrieved directly via the "Plesk" tab of the server in the Robot.

Two different language packs (out of thirteen) can be chosen within Plesk for free. Additional language packs cost € 4.12 per month.

We offer various other modules, some of which require a license upgrade. Please submit a support request via the Robot to ask about prices and/or license upgrades.
The Plesk Autoinstaller, which is pre-installed with our standard Plesk installation, can be used for installing additional modules.
We recommend you make a backup before updating Plesk.
Autoinstaller via the Plesk Panel:
In your Plesk Panel please choose the menu item "Server Management" -> "Tools & Settings" -> "Updates and Upgrades" to use the Autoinstaller.

The following command lists all available Plesk modules:

An example of a command to install a module is the following, which will install the "drweb" module:

How do I reset my Admin password for the Plesk Panel?
To reset the Plesk Panel password for the "admin" user, the following command can be used on the command-line interface (please replace 'newpasswd' with the desired password):
/usr/local/psa/bin/init_conf --update -passwd newpasswd SUCCESS: Update of administrator's information complete.
I get a "grace period" error message – what can I do?
You receive the following error message in Plesk:
Warning: You are currently operating within the grace period of your product license. To update your product license, select the Retrieve Keys option on the License Management page.
In this case please click on the button "Retrieve Keys". Your Plesk license will be updated and the notification should be gone.
How can I configure the DNS settings in Plesk for a CX Server?
When Plesk is installed on a CX server the private IPv4 address "172.31.1.100" is pre-configured.
For Plesk to automatically use the public IPv4 address of your server in the DNS settings, the following steps need to be done in the Plesk Panel:
1) Install the NAT Manager extension: ("Server Administration" -> "Extensions" -> "Extensions Catalog").
2) Under "Server Administration" -> "Extensions" -> "NAT Manager" -> "172.31.1.100" add the public IPv4 address of your server

In the DNS settings of newly created domains Plesk 12.0/12.5 now automatically uses the public IPv4 address.
In order for the public IPv4 address to be taken over in the DNS settings of existing domains/accounts, the following option must be applied to each domain in the Plesk Panel: "Domains" -> <domain name> -> "Websites & Domains" -> "DNS Settings" -> "Apply DNS Template Changes".
