E-Mail-Interface (30 Sept 2019 Changes)

Last change on 2021-05-19 • Created on 2020-03-25 • ID: RO-190E6

Introduction

Due to the GDPR, DENIC (.de Registry) has announced broad changes in the way people will need to report data regarding .de domains. We carried out these changes on 30 September 2019.

This caused the following changes in our email interface for Domain Registration Robot:

  • Admin-c, tech-c and zone-c do not exist anymore.

-Instead two other roles are available: - General Request - Abuse Request

  • For these two roles, it is not possible to use the usual handles. But there is another handle type: Request.
  • Request handles only contain a URI template. Use this template to enter an email or a website as your contact information. This is required.
  • The fields for Phone number and Fax number do not exist anymore for the handle types Person and Organization.
  • You are required to enter an email address for handle types Person and Organization.

Because of these changes, there are different email templates for some of the instructions for Domain Registration Robot (see below). We've only included instruction templates that changed on 30 September 2019 for .de domains. The templates for other .de instructions have not changed, and the instruction templates for other TLDs have not changed.

Generating a handle (Person/Organization)

From: robot-sender@hetzner.de Subject: Hallo Robot!

user: ; Client number job: handle task: new tld: DE type: [PERSON/ORG] fname: ; First name lname: ; Last name company: ; Company name address: ; Street and house number pcode: ; ZIP code city: ; City country: ; County code elements mail: ; Email address handle: new

Generating a handle (Request)

From: robot-sender@hetzner.de Subject: Hallo Robot!

user: ; Client number job: handle task: new tld: DE type: REQUEST uri: ; URI template handle: new

The URI template implements RFC 6570 and has the following structure.

Email Address

If you want to save an email address with the request handle for contact information, you can do this by using the following syntax:

mailto:info@mydomain.de

Of course you need to specify the correct email address here. In addition, you can also use this method:

mailto:info@mydomain.de?subject=Domain:{Ulabel}

In this case, <Domain:example.de> will be used in the email subject. And {Ulabel} will be used with the WHOIS-queried domain.

Website

If, for example, you want to save an online form for the contact address, you can use the following:

https://www.mydomain.de/contact

You can use the URI of your choice. You can use the following lable if you want the WHOIS-queried domain to be transcribed:

https://www.mydomain.de/contact?domain={Ulabel}
