What is the "Domain Registration Robot"?
The "Domain Registration Robot" is Hetzner´s administration tool for your domains and nameserver entries. To use this service, a one-off registration fee of 29 euros (incl. 19% VAT) is charged. The setup fee does not apply to customers who already have a Dedicated Root or vServer. The Domain Registration Robot enables you to:
- Register and manage domains (currently .de, .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .at, .eu)
- Create and manage handles for owners, Admin-C, Tech-C and Zone-C
- Create and manage nameservers
- Carry out CHProv (KK) orders for .de-, .com-, .net- and .at-Domains completely independently
- Generate CHProv (KK) orders for .org-, .info-, .biz- and .eu-Domains (this creates a request for our staff to process this manually)
In addition, the Robot also serves as an administration tool for your Dedicated Root or Colocation server to:
- Request or carry out resets
- Activate the Rescue System
- Initiate both free and charged support requests
- Configure the System monitoring
- View traffic statistics
- Create Reverse DNS entries for your IP Adresses
- Activate operating system installations
- View invoices
- Administer email addresses for billing contact, fault reports, traffic warnings
- Manage billing address and banking details
How is the Robot user interface constructed?
The following screenshot shows how easy it is to use the Domain Registration Robot.

How do I get my access data?
After you place your order at http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/domain/registrationrobot/ you will receive an order confirmation with a contract form for the Robot. As soon as we receive a signed copy of the form, we will send you the access data via email.
This doesn´t actually make much sense as the Shared Hosting Packages are managed by Hetzner anyway. Additional domains (domains registered via the Robot) still have to be set up on the web- and/or mail server which involves manual intervention by the Support team.
Should you not wish to manage a Dedicated Root Server but still take advantage of the Domain Registration Robot, a Managed Server is recommended, if possible.
